If I’m honest Wave can be a bit hit and miss for my ears, don’t get me wrong in all the years this seminal stable has been doing the business I’ve plucked out my fair share of bombs though it’s never been a buy on sight type of label if you get my meaning but if every Wave release was this good I wouldn’t have anything to moan about. Rob Rives AKA Floppy Sounds first gave this out back in 2009 but it now comes with a blistering set of reworks. First up is Pete Heller who’s no stranger to Big Apple house. Heller supplies up a sturdy offering that’s sounding both classic and current and sits perfect with those spoken ramblings about how New York City was in the good old days when the likes of the Sound Factory and Junior ruled, also worth checking is Pete’s stripped back chubby dub but it’s all about them words! NY veteran Tedd Patterson is also on hand with a hypnotic percussive workout and lastly Roberto Rodriguez who splashes more melodic flavours into the pan just for good measure. Love it!
