Italian producers Federoco Locchi & UGLH make their debut on Audiofly’s Supernature imprint this October with the Be House EP, backed with a remix from Toronto’s rising star, Carlo Lio.
Locchi & UGLH (Marco Durranti & Stefano Marcucci) have previously released their tight, percussive house on Tenax, 8-Bit and Catwash to but it’s their inaugural Supernature release which comes out on top.
In original form Be House is a shuffling, subby houser with an incredibly bumpy groove. With just an occasional vocal hit added to the jacking beats, it’s the sort of simple yet hugely effective house that will fit in any discerning djs box.
Carlo Lio’s version of Be House takes the originals percussive groove and adds an amazing level of rhythmic detail while stretching the vox sample across the track with heavy delays. Flutters of organic melodies twist in and out of the track while Lio also beefs up the breakdowns.
Finally, the filtered chords and bottom heavy toms of Bengala close the EP in fine style. Warm, deep and driving, the mood is endearing and engaging while the bass provides just the right amount of push the track needs.

This is the label run by Anglo-Italian outfit Audiofly that featured on the cover of the previous edition of this fabulous publication and it’s Italy’s production crew of Federico Locchi & UGLH (Marco Durant & Stefano Marcucci) that have delivered the labels best EP in recent outings. ’Be House’ is sure to find favour with likes of DJ Sneak due to the boompty style Jackin’ business going on here amongst the snappy vocal sample. Toronto’s Carlio Lio stretches the vocal while adding heavy delays and adds a bit weight to the breaks. Finally the filtered chords and bottom heavy toms of ‘Bengala’ provide another killer cut for this ace EP. With releases already on Tenax, 8 Bit, Catwash and now Supernature, I’m expecting the rest of the big hitters to start knocking on their door real soon. Impressive!
